Description
The “Housing and Care” funding program of the Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW) is aimed at individuals in need of care and support who have their main residence or actual stay in Vienna. It provides a subsidy towards the costs of staying in a recognized residential and/or care facility, taking into account individual needs as well as financial capabilities. Approval is based on a current medical report, Austrian citizenship or equivalence according to § 7 a WSHG, the registration certificate, and the social insurance number. The decision is based on criteria such as care and support needs, financial hardship, and the capacities of the facility. The cost contribution of the beneficiaries is calculated depending on income and care allowance and is collected directly by the FSW. The funding objective includes, in addition to accommodation and care, treatment, remobilization, and health promotion to enhance safety and quality of life. Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline.
The recognized facility commits to complying with the General and Specific Funding Guidelines as well as to regularly documenting care and support data. Quality controls and the review of fund usage ensure the highest possible standards. Changes in the needs or financial situation of the beneficiaries must be reported immediately to the FSW and may be used to adjust the subsidy accordingly. A straightforward, continuous procedure enables rapid approvals and promotes the long-term stability of housing and care services in Vienna. With its needs-based and flexible offering, the funding makes a significant contribution to securing care and support for dependent individuals in the federal capital.
