Description
The city of Graz offers an innovative subsidy model for municipal men's and women's dormitories in Styria, granting income-dependent funding rates ranging from 75% to 100%. Private households with low income, particularly homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness, thereby receive reliable social basic services. The model links the thematic areas of social affairs, housing construction & modernization, as well as labor & social affairs, contributing to urban infrastructure and urban development. Applications can be submitted continuously, with the calculation of individual housing cost contributions carried out according to the provisions of the Styrian Minimum Security Act. The indefinite funding option provides planning security and supports residents on their path to stable living conditions.
A prerequisite for granting the subsidy is actual accommodation in the municipal dormitory, proof of household income in accordance with StMSG, as well as a ZMR query for complete income verification. Only contributions for accommodation are funded. Required documents include income proofs and the documents specified in point 11 of the guideline dated 14.06.2012. Application submission is free of charge and can be made at any time. With this model, the provincial capital Graz aims to avoid one-time collections of social benefit data and to provide long-term relief to people with low income.
