Description

“Show what you can do!” is a three-year funding program by the Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft (sdw) gGmbH that supports young people nationwide in lower secondary education—especially those in the Hauptschule track—during the seamless transition from school to vocational training. The initiative begins in the penultimate school year and offers professional career orientation, individual coaching, and targeted personal development. Throughout the entire project duration of 36 months, participants receive continuous support: from practical company visits and workshops to strengthen personal skills to guidance during the first year of training. In this way, barriers are reduced and potentials sustainably developed, enabling successful entry into apprenticeships and long-term retention of skilled workers.

Funded as a grant and open to individuals throughout Germany, the program targets lower secondary students interested in vocational training and in need of transitional support. Applications can be submitted at any time, as deadlines are offered continuously. In addition to school enrollment, motivation to proactively shape one’s own professional future is a prerequisite. Through a network of experienced coaches, experts from SchuleWirtschaft, and partner organizations, participants receive tailored support that highlights individual strengths and opens sustainable perspectives after the completion of the funding.
