Description

Every two years, the civic foundation zivita awards outstanding projects in the Görlitz district with the zivita Sponsorship Award. With a prize money of €1,000, the activation of civic engagement in the Görlitz district is promoted by recognizing clubs, initiatives, private individuals, non-profit organizations, or companies for exemplary ideas and activities. The call for applications is continuous, and submissions can be made at any time. The award aims to motivate as many people as possible to contribute their skills and resources to social, democratic, and intergenerational initiatives and to provide a sustainable impetus for further projects.

For the award decision, the jury considers innovative and contemporary forms of volunteer work, the promotion of previously less active participants, engagement with societal challenges such as unemployment or structural change, as well as the networking of generations. Concepts sought are those that generate momentum and strengthen social cohesion. To apply, a written proposal must be submitted, including complete contact details of the applicants and the nominated project leaders, along with a detailed justification. The commendable engagement must relate to the Görlitz district. The next competition will take place in spring 2026, with the jury deciding based on the submitted documents. The funds are at the winner’s free disposal; no accounting or proof of use is required.
