Description
The state of Tyrol supports school providers of non-federally funded schools in Tyrol through a direct subsidy for the personnel costs of school assistance. The aim of this funding is to strengthen the school participation of children and adolescents with disabilities by having qualified assistants accompany lessons and school activities. Applications can be submitted continuously; the subsidy can be granted at the earliest from the first day of the month in which the fully completed application is received by the Department of Inclusion and Child and Youth Welfare. The grant is awarded for the duration of one school year and is paid out in two equal installments – by the end of the first semester and by the end of the second semester or the beginning of the new school year.
A prerequisite for funding is proof of a disability (§ 3 lit. a TTHG) through increased family allowance or care allowance, Austrian citizenship or equivalence, as well as main residence in Tyrol. Only the personnel costs of school assistance according to the Municipal Contract Employee Act 2012 (salary scheme Ak, level 10) are eligible for funding. For the application, an informal application for subsidy for the wage costs of school assistance, a justified statement from the responsible compulsory school inspector, and proof of consent from the custodial guardians must be submitted. Close cooperation between school management, teachers, and assistant staff is a fundamental prerequisite for the successful implementation of inclusive educational offerings.
