Grants for Assistive Devices for People with Disabilities

The funding measure supports people with physical, mental, psychological, or sensory impairments in Carinthia in acquiring necessary assistive devices in accordance with § 9 lit. b K-ChG. Private individuals with verified disabilities and social need can continuously receive grants ranging from €50 to €1,500. For hearing aids, funding of up to €500 per device is provided. The aim of the funding is to compensate for physical limitations and to strengthen participation in social life. Age-related functional impairments as well as assistive devices for persons in nursing homes or those with psychological or chronic illnesses are excluded from funding. Support is only provided if no other cost bearers such as the Social Ministry Service, regional health insurance funds, or pension insurance providers intervene.

Requirements for a successful application include proof of impairment, social need, and submission of a fully completed application form GS-L73 along with the invoice for the assistive device. The funding measure is continuously available to private individuals in Carinthia, allowing applications to be submitted year-round. Through transparent review of the submitted documents, it is ensured that the funds are targeted precisely where they are urgently needed. Experts from the responsible state department carefully verify whether all requirements are met to enable barrier-free access to essential support instruments.
