Grant for Business Takeover

The city of Villach supports the takeover of existing agricultural and forestry businesses with a one-time grant of EUR 5,000, thereby strengthening the sustainable management of rural areas. Eligible applicants are private individuals, cooperatives, companies, interest groups, as well as other associations with their business headquarters in Villach, who submit a complete application within six months after the takeover, including the purchase or takeover contract, cost overview, application form, and De-minimis declaration. A well-organized financial and accounting system is required, as well as, if applicable, the conclusion of a subsidy agreement for funding amounts of EUR 5,000 or more. Only the redemption amount or purchase price for the business takeover is eligible for funding. Approval depends on compliance with formal criteria, the availability of budgetary funds, and timely submission of the application. The funding volume will be provided until fully allocated and applies from January 1, 2026.

With this grant, the city of Villach aims to secure and continue agricultural and forestry businesses within the municipal area and supports founders and business successors in the seamless transfer of their operations. The funding sets incentives for maintaining a productive agriculture sector, contributes to regional value creation, and promotes the rural location as a vibrant community. By providing financial relief during the takeover, long-term economic viability is ensured and the continuation of traditional management structures is guaranteed.
