Description

In Lower Austria and Vienna, a grant supports agricultural enterprises in the purchase of up to two female breeding cattle per year. The aim of the measure is to strengthen domestic cattle breeding in the disadvantaged areas of Lower Austria. In the case of farm cooperations, each partner can benefit from this support twice. The funding is exclusively aimed at businesses within the Lower Austrian designated area of agricultural disadvantage and contributes to sustainably securing the performance and competitiveness of regional livestock farming.

A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is the acquisition of the breeding cattle through a Lower Austrian sales event or a direct farm sale by the Lower Austrian breeding associations. For farms in the districts of Wiener Neustadt and Neunkirchen, the auction locations Oberwart and Greinbach are also recognized. Applications are submitted via the responsible cattle breeding association or the Chamber of Agriculture of Lower Austria and must include a declaration regarding agricultural de minimis aid in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1535/2007. Since the funding is offered continuously and applications can be submitted at any time, planned investments can be implemented flexibly. This direct funding measure creates incentives to expand the regional breeding stock and thus strengthens the agricultural structure in disadvantaged high-altitude and peripheral areas in the long term.
