Description
The Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein (IB.SH) supports households with a valid housing entitlement certificate in Schleswig-Holstein with a one-time grant for the acquisition of cooperative business shares. The mandatory participation of at least €25,000 is funded, with 25% of the amount – up to a maximum of €25,000 – granted as a subsidy. For each child permanently living in the household, the funding amount increases by €5,000. The subsidy can be combined with other funding programs and ensures access to owner-occupied, socially bound housing in cooperative projects whose sponsors already manage subsidized properties or have applied for corresponding funding. The application must be submitted before the acquisition of the shares and can be filed with IB.SH until December 31, 2026.
Conditions for approval include a valid housing entitlement certificate, membership in a housing cooperative in Schleswig-Holstein, and proof of the minimum mandatory participation. The application must include, among other documents, the housing entitlement certificate, an informal membership application to the cooperative, the project's statutes, proof of the paid mandatory participation, and details of the intended apartment. IB.SH decides on the allocation of funds at its due discretion. Upon approval, the payment is made in a single installment directly to the cooperative. The program contributes to strengthening cooperative housing projects and enabling affordable, sustainably bound housing for broad segments of the population.
