Description
The grant for inpatient short-term care supports individuals in need of care with their main residence in Tyrol in acute emergency situations following an unexpected hospital stay (e.g., stroke, femoral neck fracture, or similar). The aim of this funding is to relieve caregiving relatives by financially supporting professional care in a residential or nursing home for a minimum of four and a maximum of 28 days per calendar year. The grant is provided as a one-time cash benefit based on the daily rates set by the State of Tyrol for the respective care level, plus a flat-rate expense allowance of 10%. Applications can be submitted by private individuals on an ongoing basis and must be filed no later than six months after the start of the short-term care.
A prerequisite for a successful application is proof of main residence in Tyrol as well as the provision of short-term care in a facility with a framework agreement with the State of Tyrol. Persons who do not receive care allowance or who receive care allowance of levels 1 and 2 can be supported just as those in higher care levels. Eligible expenses include exclusively the costs of short-term care according to the specified daily rate plus the flat-rate allowance. The following documents are required for application submission: the latest legally binding decision on the care level, income proofs of the person in need of care, a medical certificate confirming the acute emergency situation and hospital stay, a cost receipt from the facility, and, if applicable, a medical report for adjustment of the care level. Processing takes place upon submission of the original invoices to the Office of the Tyrolean State Government, Department of Social Affairs.
