Grant to the Austrian Red Cross

The federal grant to the Austrian Red Cross supports, as direct funding, a long-term secured operational capability of the national society in the field of disaster protection and humanitarian aid. The focus is on sustainable functionality in Vienna and the implementation of international tasks in accordance with the Geneva Conventions, Additional Protocols, and resolutions of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Conferences. Non-profit organizations active in civil and disaster protection, first aid, and social welfare are supported. The grant contributes to maintaining necessary structures, enabling training and further education measures for volunteers and professionals, as well as efficiently preparing and conducting cross-border relief operations.

The funding aims to make the Austrian society resilient and ensure high quality in emergency and crisis situations. Funding can be applied for throughout the year, with contract signing in accordance with § 10c of the Red Cross Act being a prerequisite for the grant. This ensures that administrative processes, logistical resources, and medical services remain permanently secured. The measure is specifically aimed at those organizational units that undertake important tasks domestically and abroad. Interested non-profit organizations can submit applications continuously to further expand the necessary basis for efficient aid services and preventive measures.
