Description

The annual grants from the State of Salzburg support the further development and management of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Provided as direct subsidies in accordance with the current state budget, they promote measures in the areas of environmental/nature conservation as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. The funding serves the long-term preservation of the unique natural landscapes, the safeguarding of valuable habitats, and the strengthening of sustainable educational and research offerings. The Hohe Tauern National Park Fund acts as the operational body responsible for the conception, implementation, and evaluation of these programs in close coordination with the Office of the Salzburg State Government. Thanks to the indefinite funding framework, continuous projects can be realized and ongoing management tasks reliably ensured.

Foundations, as eligible institutions, are invited to fulfill their mandates within the national park by complying with legal requirements and ensuring the necessary provisions in the state budget. There is no application deadline, as funds are allocated on an ongoing basis. Funding applications require the submission of current activity reports, detailed annual budgets, and auditable financial statements. Submissions are to be made after the end of the fiscal year, with the activity report and financial statement to be submitted by March 31 of the following year at the latest. Additionally, the budget plan for the upcoming year must be submitted by June 30. With this transparent funding structure, the State of Salzburg guarantees a reliable financial basis and thereby supports the sustainable development of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
