Description
The grant for fisheries organizations and fish research in the state of Tyrol supports projects in accordance with the Tyrolean Fisheries Act 2002, aimed at the preservation and restoration of native aquatic animal populations. Funding is provided particularly for sustainable stocking measures for endangered species, the breeding of stocking material, and smaller structural measures, such as fish passage aids to spawning grounds. With an annual subsidy volume of up to €21,000, this measure contributes to securing viable populations in research and experimental waters and to the long-term stabilization of ecological habitats. The funding supports environmental and nature conservation as well as research and innovation in the field of fish biology and ecology.
Eligible to apply are fisheries organizations, fish farming enterprises, research institutions, and associations that ensure the preservation or creation of native aquatic animal populations. A prerequisite for approval is the maintenance of the objectives of the Tyrolean Fisheries Act as well as the submission of a detailed project description or project outline. The grant is awarded for a project duration of up to twelve months; applications can be submitted annually by September 30.
