Description
The funding program “Grants for Sports Facility Construction (SportstbRL M-V)” supports municipal and non-profit sponsors in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the modernization, renovation (including energy-efficient renovation), maintenance as well as the new construction, expansion, and conversion of sports facilities. The goal is to improve sports infrastructure and increase the usable sports area in rural regions. The grant also includes the provision of sports equipment and is awarded as a non-repayable subsidy. Funding sources include the EAFRD as well as state and federal funds. An informal information request must be submitted by November 30 each year for the following year; after a positive review, the formal application is submitted to the State Funding Institute Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (LFI). Eligible for funding are districts and municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, as well as non-profit sports clubs and associations that are members of the State Sports Federation Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and other non-profit sponsors with headquarters and operational area within the state. The funding rate varies depending on the measure between 40% and 100%; in funding area II, in-kind contributions of up to 50% can be credited. Approval criteria include the sports-related need, the condition of existing facilities, the sustainable development of the sports facility network, and regional traditions. Selection takes place in a two-stage process with an informal information request by November 30 and subsequent application submission to the LFI.
