Description
The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania provides an important instrument to reduce social inequalities through grants for measures supporting and strengthening children and adolescents from families affected by psychological stress or addiction. The funding program finances projects aimed at mitigating disadvantages in individual living conditions and addressing structural challenges. Using funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), statewide as well as regional measures are supported that promote the transfer of information and knowledge, professional exchange, and the establishment of coordinated support services. This initiative is intended not only to increase the visibility of the issue but also to achieve a sustainable improvement in the life and everyday skills of the affected children and adolescents.
Eligible for funding are public institutions, associations, clubs, and municipalities that can demonstrate professional and organizational suitability. Grants are provided as lump sums for personnel expenses and material costs, enabling uncomplicated resource deployment. Particular emphasis is placed on in-depth knowledge in working with affected children and adolescents as well as experience in interdisciplinary collaboration. The measures include, in addition to statewide initiatives such as the establishment of a central state specialist office, regional support services—for example, individual case consultations or guidance services—as well as target group-specific projects such as sponsorship services and cooperation projects. These diverse approaches are intended to meet the varying needs of the affected target group and thereby make an important contribution to social integration.
The funding measure aims to build and expand sustainable structures in the field of social and health support. Through the consolidation approach in a central state specialist office, the exchange of information and best practices is improved, contributing to the enhancement of the quality and efficiency of services. The financial grants enable the implementation of innovative and practice-oriented projects that directly contribute to strengthening individual living conditions. Furthermore, the measures promote the development of regional networks in which experts, municipal actors, and professionals collaboratively develop solutions. With this integrated strategy, the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania makes a decisive contribution to supporting a vulnerable target group and thus contributes to the long-term improvement of social and health care in the federal state.
