Description
The funding program “Grants for the Establishment and Further Development of Digital Hubs” by the State Chancellery of Schleswig-Holstein has been supporting local initiatives and institutions in mediating and networking digital topics on-site since July 2024. With grants ranging from €7,500 to €50,000, municipal authorities, non-profit associations, federations, foundations, educational institutions, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises based in Schleswig-Holstein are funded. The goal is to establish and further develop a comprehensive network of Digital Hubs where citizens can get to know digital technologies, attend events on digitization issues, and receive impulses on the opportunities and challenges of digitalization. Funding is provided as a grant with a funding rate of 75% and requires a 25% own contribution. Continuation of operations for at least twelve months ensures that the offer remains permanently available for different age groups.
For the application, an application form, project description, statement on minimum standards, and a handwritten signature are available. Submission is possible at any time, as ongoing funding opportunities exist. Eligible expenses include the acquisition of hardware and software for the implementation or optimization of the digital offering at the location. Projects are evaluated based on being non-commercially oriented, having a local site, and offering events on digital topics. Furthermore, the program creates networking opportunities within the Digital Hubs network, regular stakeholder dialogues with the State Chancellery, as well as marketing materials and quality seals for outstanding locations.
