Grants to Strengthen Municipal Migration Work

Within the framework of the program Strengthening Municipal Migration Work in Saxony-Anhalt, the state supports districts and independent cities in the reception and integration of immigrants. Funding is provided particularly for the establishment and operation of migration coordination offices, whose task profile includes building a local network, coordinating initial care and integration services, as well as developing and implementing municipal integration concepts. Additional measures to improve integration work, such as qualification offers for intercultural competence, information campaigns, or professional events, can also be applied for. Funding is granted as a non-repayable subsidy with a maximum funding amount of EUR 112,680 per applicant and fiscal year. The funding rate is up to 90% of eligible expenses. The Saxony-Anhalt State Administration Office is responsible for approval and disbursement; applications can be submitted continuously.

Eligible to apply are public institutions in the form of districts and independent cities that wish to implement a concrete integration project. A prerequisite is the establishment of a coordination office with clearly defined goals and job descriptions, the submission of detailed cost and financing plans for the entire funding period, as well as a concept for the continuation of the measure after the expiration of state funding. Personnel, material, and administrative costs are eligible for funding, whereby each measure is subject to a strict cost-effectiveness review. The evaluation is based on criteria such as effectiveness, plausibility of cost and revenue planning, completeness of formal requirements, as well as business management statements and proof of multiple offers or supplementary opinions.
