Description

The Baden-Württemberg Nature Conservation Fund Foundation supports innovative pilot and model projects in nature conservation in Baden-Württemberg with this grant. Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, foundations, public institutions, and private individuals committed to the preservation of biological diversity. The focus is on application-oriented research projects that develop action recommendations for endangered species and habitats, as well as projects in education for sustainable development (ESD) that convey action-oriented concepts for environmentally and climate-friendly everyday practices. Another emphasis is on nature-based strategies for climate adaptation, such as the restoration of peatlands, the establishment of habitat networks, or sustainable water management. With the funding call under the motto "We Promote Diversity," the foundation creates impulses for creative nature conservation solutions and strengthens public engagement.

Applications with a funding requirement of up to €50,000 are usually decided within three months after receipt of all documents. For projects with a higher financial volume, the review will take place in spring 2026 by the foundation’s board. A prerequisite for funding is the location or project activity in Baden-Württemberg as well as the professional relevance to nature conservation, ESD, or climate adaptation. The next funding round starts in July 2026 and is aimed at applicants who submit their complete application documents on time. Through targeted support of exemplary projects, this funding makes a sustainable contribution to nature protection and the strengthening of forward-looking educational formats.
