About the funder

The Aenne Speck Foundation was established in November 2006 in Freiburg as a legally recognized foundation under civil law and is named after the founder Aenne Speck († 2005). According to her testamentary wishes, the entire assets are dedicated to aid for multiple sclerosis patients and those with comparable central nervous system diseases. The foundation provides unbureaucratic financial support to affected individuals in emergency situations as well as to therapeutic measures not covered by insurers. Furthermore, it promotes scientific studies for the research and combat of MS and supports sports and cultural programs for patients and their relatives, as well as information and self-help groups.

Mission & Vision

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis or comparable diseases of the central nervous system. We provide straightforward financial assistance to those affected, promote scientific research projects, and support sports and cultural programs that benefit patients and their families. In the spirit of public benefit, we also strengthen other organizations and institutions dedicated to the same purposes.

Target groups

The funding programs of the Aenne Speck Foundation are aimed at individuals suffering from multiple sclerosis or comparable diseases of the central nervous system who experience financial hardship due to the illness or require necessary therapies not covered by health insurance; research institutions and scientific study projects focused on the research and combat of MS; as well as social, sports, and cultural institutions, clubs, and associations that plan and implement offerings (e.g., equine or music therapy, workshops, self-help groups) for MS patients and their relatives.
