The Department for Women within the Office of the Salzburg State Government is the central contact point for all matters concerning equality and the promotion of women in the state of Salzburg. It develops and manages funding programs for women-specific projects, advises initiatives and individuals on grant applications, and organizes measures for the prevention and intervention of domestic and gender-based violence. The department works closely with social institutions, associations, and public authorities to strengthen the economic participation and social inclusion of women.

Our mission is to actively promote gender equality between women and men in the state of Salzburg, to ensure women's self-determination and safety, and to create an environment in which women can access equal opportunities in all areas of life. We encourage innovation and commitment, support women-specific projects, and advocate for a violence-free coexistence.

The funding programs and advisory services are aimed at women of all age groups in the state of Salzburg, as well as organizations, initiatives, and associations that implement projects promoting women, equal opportunities, and violence prevention. Those affected by domestic violence and specialized counseling and support centers also benefit from the department's preventive and intervention measures.
