About the funder
The Bürger-Stiftung Stormarn is a regional umbrella foundation for the district of Stormarn. Since its establishment in 2007, it has enabled citizens, associations, companies, and institutions to engage in civic activities under a common legal and administrative framework. The foundation supports and coordinates projects as well as regional community foundations and foundation funds, provides funding, and manages operational administration, financial affairs, and committee management. Currently, over 400 volunteers are involved, with more than 30 regional foundation funds and six regional community foundations active under its umbrella.

Mission & Vision
The Bürger-Stiftung Stormarn pursues the vision of empowering people to positively transform their own region. It is committed to strengthening civic engagement, promoting social cohesion, and providing a lasting platform for charitable initiatives. As a non-partisan and non-denominational umbrella organization, it assumes legal, financial, and administrative responsibility to ensure that engagement and donor intentions are effectively realized.
Target groups
The target group includes all residents of the Stormarn district – individuals, donors, benefactors, volunteers contributing time and ideas – as well as associations, organizations, schools, businesses, and municipal partners. The Bürger-Stiftung is aimed at everyone who wishes to engage in the common good and initiate or support projects promoting education, culture, nature, youth, and social participation.
