About the funder
The Bürgerstiftung Zukunft Borchen is a non-profit foundation based in Borchen, dedicated to strengthening the civic responsibility of the community for the development and future of the municipality. Since its establishment in 2022 by Angela Michels, it annually supports more than 30 projects and initiatives in the fields of child, youth, and elderly care, environmental and monument protection, public and vocational education, art and culture, sports, local heritage preservation, as well as assistance for people in need. The foundation also manages the Hans-Joachim and Angela Michels Foundation Fund with a capital of €4 million, the proceeds of which primarily benefit families in distress. Funding applications can be submitted by non-profit associations, institutions, initiatives, and also by committed private individuals.

Mission & Vision
The Bürgerstiftung Zukunft Borchen promotes and strengthens the local community by supporting projects that make a sustainable contribution to the development of the municipality. Our mission is to unite civic engagement, use resources effectively, and foster innovation to shape Borchen as a livable and future-proof community.
Target groups
Non-profit associations and organizations as well as committed private individuals from the municipality of Borchen and the surrounding area are supported. The projects must have a connection to the municipality of Borchen and be assignable to one of the foundation’s purposes, for example in the fields of child, youth, and elderly care, monument protection, education, culture, sports, local heritage preservation, or support for those in need.
