About the funder

The DFB Foundation Sepp Herberger is one of three foundations of the German Football Association (DFB) and is named after the long-time national coach Sepp Herberger. It is committed to social and integrative projects within organized football and particularly supports disability football, the reintegration of prisoners, voluntary engagement, as well as educational and social projects. The foundation's goal is to enable social participation through the integrative power of football and to create sustainable structures for inclusion and social responsibility.

Mission & Vision

The DFB-Stiftung Sepp Herberger is committed to strengthening social responsibility in football. It supports projects that enable people with disabilities, socially disadvantaged groups, and volunteers to experience participation and build networks. In doing so, the foundation highlights the integrative and transformative power of sport and contributes to greater inclusion and social justice.

Target groups

The target group of the DFB-Stiftung Sepp Herberger comprises actors in organized football – clubs, regional associations, referee associations, and individuals – who are engaged in projects for disability football, resocialization, educational initiatives, or social commitment. In the area of resocialization, judicial institutions may also submit applications. The programs are aimed at people with and without disabilities, young volunteers, as well as organizations seeking to implement collaborations between schools and clubs.
