Doris-Wuppermann-Stiftung – Junge Menschen für soziale Demokratie

Private foundation

About the funder

The Doris Wuppermann Foundation was established in 2002 by Doris Niemann (née Wuppermann). It is a non-profit, privately funded foundation that aims to encourage young people to engage in political action and support their commitment to social democracy—beyond party affiliation and career considerations. The foundation funds projects that strengthen social learning, political participation, and advocacy among children and youth. Particular emphasis is placed on initiatives in the areas of political participation and empowerment, anti-racism and anti-discrimination work, democratically designed climate protection, as well as culture of remembrance.

Mission & Vision

The Doris Wuppermann Foundation is committed to empowering young people to represent their political interests independently and to assume social responsibility. It believes in new forms of engagement and in the power of young voices to keep our democracy vibrant. Through targeted support of educational and participation projects, the foundation aims to contribute to strengthening a social, democratic civil society.

Target groups

Young people and their initiatives with non-profit status, as well as legally independent organizations (e.g., registered associations and municipal youth facilities), are supported. The programs target committed children, adolescents, and young adults who wish to carry out innovative projects in the fields of political participation, anti-discrimination work, sustainable climate protection, and culture of remembrance.
