Dr. E. A. Langner-Stiftung

The Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation was established in 2004 by entrepreneur Prof. Dr. Ernst A. Langner in Hamburg. It develops, initiates, and supports needs-based projects and programs, with a focus on academic jazz education and the promotion of the jazz scene, as well as other social cultural projects in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The foundation provides seed funding for new initiatives, supports young people interested in culture, and offers projects a platform until they can be continued by other sponsors.

The Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation is committed to the individual support of young people interested in culture. Its goal is to independently develop, accompany, and financially support needs-oriented cultural and educational projects, particularly in the field of jazz and music. Through long-term commitment, the foundation aims to strengthen academic jazz education, sustainably promote jazz in Hamburg, and create musical future prospects for young talents.

The funding programs of the Dr. E. A. Langner Foundation are aimed at young musicians, students, and ensembles in the jazz and music sector in Hamburg, jazz journalists, as well as children and adolescents in cultural education projects (e.g., Hamburg Fairy Tale Days). It supports initiatives that pursue innovative approaches and contribute to cultural diversity, musical education, and reading promotion.
