About the funder

The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) is an agency of the European Commission that manages and implements programs in the fields of environment, climate action, energy, infrastructure, and transport within the powers delegated by the Commission. It specifically implements the LIFE Programme by organizing calls for financial aid and operating grants, awarding public contracts, and offering prize money. The agency operates under the supervision of the European Commission and ensures the implementation of the objectives of the European Green Deal as well as EU regulations promoting sustainable development.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to efficiently implement the European Union's policy objectives in the fields of climate, infrastructure, and environment, to accelerate the transition to a climate-neutral, resource-efficient, and sustainable economy, and to promote innovative projects that strengthen the common good and advance the EU's environmental and climate policies.

Target groups

CINEA targets national and regional administrations, public authorities, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, companies, and consortia in EU Member States and associated countries that plan and implement projects in the fields of nature and environmental protection, climate action, renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, as well as transport and infrastructure. The agency supports applicants through targeted funding measures, technical assistance, and capacity building.
