Förderstiftung Archäologie in Baden-Württemberg
About the funder
The Förderstiftung Archäologie in Baden-Württemberg is a non-profit foundation under civil law, established in 2010 through donations from the Gesellschaft für Archäologie in Württemberg und Hohenzollern e. V. and the Förderkreis Archäologie in Baden e. V. It supports archaeological research and its presentation in the region through scientific events and conferences, the awarding of research contracts and scholarships (e.g., doctoral and master's scholarships), archaeological surveys and excavations, exhibitions and publications on topics of regional archaeology, as well as the communication of scientific content to the public. Through endowments and donations, it supports projects where state or municipal funds are insufficient, particularly for scientific analysis, publication, and museum presentation.

Mission & Vision
The Förderstiftung Archäologie is committed to the research, documentation, and dissemination of archaeology in Baden-Württemberg. Its goal is to strengthen fundamental scientific research and make archaeological findings accessible to a broad public through financial support of projects, scholarships, and exhibitions. In doing so, it fills gaps where public funding reaches its limits and contributes to the cultural identity of the region.
Target groups
The funding programs are aimed at doctoral candidates and students of archaeology and related disciplines at state or state-recognized universities with a focus on the archaeology of Baden-Württemberg; research institutions, museums, and municipal sponsors planning archaeological projects, surveys, or exhibitions; scholars and journalists wishing to publish contributions on regional archaeology; as well as volunteers and archaeology associations conducting excavations, development, and outreach projects.
