About the funder
The Gusti Steiner Foundation is a non-profit private foundation based in Dortmund, dedicated to supporting people with disabilities. It was established in 2022 by Dr. Birgit Rothenberg to continue the work of Gusti Steiner, a social worker and co-founder of the emancipatory disability movement who passed away in 2004. The foundation's goal is to support people with disabilities in their self-determination and to preserve knowledge of the disability movement as a human rights movement for the long term.
