Heinrich Sauer und Josef Schmidt Stiftung
About the funder
The Heinrich Sauer and Josef Schmidt Foundation is a legally capable public foundation under civil law, based in Gelnhausen. It was established in 2002 by Heidemarie and Peter Bierwerth to support victims of violent crime, particularly children and adolescents in the Main-Kinzig district. In 2012, the foundation's purpose was expanded through an endowment by Josef and Brigitte Schmidt to include the promotion of talented but financially needy pupils and students, as well as the annual support of Alzheimer's research. The foundation's funds originate from the income of its capital assets, endowments, donations, fines, and proceeds from benefit events.

Our goal is to sustainably improve the living conditions of those affected through targeted individual assistance and scholarship programs.
