Herbert Gerisch-Stiftung
About the funder
The Herbert Gerisch Foundation is a non-profit private foundation founded in 2001 by Brigitte and Herbert Gerisch, based in Neumünster. Its goal is to develop the city into a center for modern sculpture and contemporary art. The foundation maintains an internationally significant sculpture park spanning three hectares, designed in the style of an English landscape garden, as well as rotating exhibitions in the Villa Wachholtz, the gallery, and the Harry Maasz Café. Each year, the collection is expanded with new works by renowned artists such as Magdalena Abakanowicz, Markus Lüpertz, and Jeppe Hein. The park and exhibition spaces are open to the public and offer accompanying educational programs and workshops.
