Herbert Kexel Stiftung

The Herbert Kexel Foundation is a legally capable independent, non-profit foundation under civil law based in Limburg an der Lahn. It was established by testament by pharmacist Herbert Kexel (1950–2016) and pursues charitable purposes motivated by Christian charity. The foundation directly supports needy citizens of Limburg as well as tax-privileged organizations that assist people with disabilities, illness, age-related ailments, refugees, displaced persons, war victims, and other individuals in need. Support is provided through monetary and in-kind contributions as well as partial project funding for communal institutions and initiatives.

The Herbert Kexel Foundation is committed to supporting people who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own and are unable to cover their living expenses or specific needs. Its goal is to alleviate distress in the city of Limburg—whether through direct financial assistance, in-kind contributions, or by funding projects of non-profit organizations. It believes in the power of care and solidarity and aims to improve the quality of life of needy fellow citizens in the long term.

The funding opportunities are aimed at natural persons experiencing involuntary need in the city of Limburg and its districts (e.g., disabled persons, war victims, refugees, displaced persons, civilian casualties, crime victims, the poor, the sick, the elderly) as well as at non-profit organizations and public law legal entities that provide services for these target groups in Limburg (e.g., Caritas Limburg, Pallottines, Mütterzentrum Limburg).
