Hoppmann Stiftung Demokratie im Alltag
About the funder
The Hoppmann Foundation "Democracy in Everyday Life" was established in 1974 by Klaus Hoppmann as a non-profit foundation of Martin Hoppmann GmbH. By transferring all business shares, the foundation capital was neutralized and the principle of employee participation institutionalized. The foundation is the sole shareholder of Martin Hoppmann GmbH and is financed through fixed profit distributions from the operating GmbH as well as through donations. The annual budget amounts to approximately €110,000. The foundation’s purpose is to support socially disadvantaged children and youth, non-profit citizen initiatives, and the training and further education of employees for democratic participation in the economy and society. Additionally, as the "guardian of codetermination," the foundation ensures compliance with and the further development of employee participation within the Hoppmann corporate group.
