About the funder
The Humanismus Stiftung Berlin is a non-profit funding foundation that has supported projects and institutions since 2006, which are committed to a humanistic worldview, education, culture, and social services. It finances long-term initiatives of the Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg, the Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg, as well as the Humanist University Berlin. Additionally, it awards the Humanism Prize for Human Rights every two years. As a pure funding foundation, it relies entirely on voluntary engagement as well as endowments, donations, and inheritances.

Mission & Vision
The Humanismus Stiftung Berlin aims to promote a self-determined, just, and dignified society. It supports initiatives that enable education, foster encounters, and make social responsibility tangible. Through funding, awards, and its own projects, humanistic commitment is to be made visible and contribute to the strengthening of human rights and democratic values.
Target groups
Priority is given to funding institutions and projects of the Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg, the Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg, and the Humanist University Berlin. The focus is on services in the areas of education, children and youth, culture, science and research, as well as social services such as hospice care, senior counseling, and support for the homeless. Eligible to apply are corporations and organizations within the aforementioned association.
