About the funder

The Johannes Bugenhagen Foundation promotes church life in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District. Since its founding in 2008 on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the death of Johannes Bugenhagen (1485–1558), it has supported projects and new approaches in the fields of pastoral care, proclamation, instruction, mission, and ecumenism. Guided by the principles of the Pomeranian reformer and pastor of Martin Luther, the foundation contributes to ensuring that the joyful message of the Gospel reaches as many people as possible. Both innovative formats such as open-air nativity plays and musical projects, as well as community diaconal measures and educational events, are supported.
