Josef Hurnaus Stiftung

The Josef Hurnaus Foundation was recognized as a charitable foundation by the Munich Tax Office on October 7, 2006, and pursues ecclesiastical purposes in favor of child and youth welfare. In close cooperation with the Salesians of Don Bosco, it supports charitable child and youth projects within Germany. Another funding focus is on measures that strengthen individuals or families in their decision for new life. Additionally, the foundation promotes the preservation and construction of church buildings with the aim of filling these places with life and faith, as well as the pastoral training of the Salesians of Don Bosco, particularly in Benediktbeuern. The focus of funding is on Bavaria.

"Be joyful, do good, and let the sparrows whistle!" – true to this life motto of the founder Josef Hurnaus, the foundation is committed to opening up future prospects for children and young people. By supporting concrete projects locally, it aims to contribute to strengthening young people in their development, encouraging families, and preserving church places as vibrant centers of faith.

The funding programs of the Josef Hurnaus Foundation are aimed at non-profit children and youth projects in Germany that are implemented under the sponsorship or in cooperation with the Salesians of Don Bosco; at initiatives and measures that support individuals or families in their decision for newborn life; at projects for the preservation and new construction of church buildings and chapels; and at the pastoral training of prospective Salesians of Don Bosco, especially in Benediktbeuern.
