Private foundation

About the funder

The Karl Hemmer Foundation was established in 2004 by the Kolpingwerk Diocesan Association Freiburg and is named after Karl Hemmer (1923–2002). The initial endowment originated from his estate; in 2008, an additional donation was made by Rudolf Fischer with the mandate to promote education and craftsmanship in India (state of Kerala). Since 2022, the project "Education in India" has been running in cooperation with Kolping India, through which scholarships are awarded to young people in Kerala. The foundation exclusively pursues charitable and benevolent purposes.
