About the funder
The Karsten Nendel Foundation was established in 2015 by the Hamburg entrepreneur Karsten Nendel and is dedicated to the preservation and improvement of protected habitats as well as the conservation of native animal and plant species. The foundation is based in Hamburg. It funds and implements nature conservation projects throughout Germany, including the Linum Pond Landscape (Europe’s largest inland resting area for geese and cranes), the ecological enhancement of the Itzbach Valley in Saarland, and the natural design of the Bresewitz Polder on the Baltic Sea. The foundation works closely with environmental authorities, research institutions, conservation organizations, and municipal partners.

Mission & Vision
