Kindness for Kids

Kindness for Kids is a non-profit foundation established in 2003 and based in Starnberg, dedicated to supporting children with rare diseases and their families. In the social sector, the foundation organizes and accompanies free holiday breaks, children’s and youth recreational activities, as well as parent seminars. Additionally, it offers psychosocial counseling for those affected and their relatives. In the research sector, Kindness for Kids primarily promotes health services research with the goal of sustainably improving the quality, efficiency, and patient-centeredness of healthcare for children with rare diseases. Administrative costs are fully covered by the founders, ensuring that 100% of donations go directly to projects.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for children with rare diseases and their families through many small and large steps. We believe in the importance of social support and practical research to ensure early diagnoses, effective therapies, and comprehensive care. Every contribution helps us to noticeably ease the daily lives of those affected and to give them hope for a happy, fulfilling life.

Kindness for Kids is aimed at children and adolescents with rare diseases as well as their families – especially parents and siblings who often bear significant burdens in everyday life. The foundation supports both those affected in acute crisis situations and projects in healthcare research, with the goal of improving the structural and medical care of this target group in the long term.
