About the funder
The Kolping Foundation Würzburg is a legally capable ecclesiastical foundation under public law in accordance with Article 29 of the Bavarian Foundation Act. Its mandate is to collect and manage assets in order to promote ecclesiastical, vocational, and social projects from the proceeds. Based on the message of Adolph Kolping and the program of the Kolping Society, it supports institutions and initiatives within the Diocese of Würzburg through grants or low-interest loans. The foundation’s capital amounts to approximately 790,000 euros (untouchable capital) as well as about 70,000 euros in earmarked funds for international projects in Kenya and Romania. Examples of supported projects include street children initiatives in Nairobi, partnership work with youth in Romania, and renovation loans for Kolping families in Mittelstreu.

Mission & Vision
The foundation's mission is to collect and manage assets in order to realize the following foundation purposes from their proceeds: to help shape church and society based on the message of Adolph Kolping and the program of the Kolping Society – with a special focus on international understanding, church educational work, as well as religious, vocational, and social support in the spirit of the International Kolping Society.
Target groups
The foundation supports institutions and initiatives of the Kolping Society in the Diocese of Würzburg as well as international Kolping projects. Target groups are youth, young adults, families, and disadvantaged people in Germany as well as in partner regions in Kenya and Romania. Support is provided through financial contributions (grants or loans); no own projects are implemented.
