About the funder
The BVB Foundation "leuchte auf" was established in 2012 by Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA and is a non-profit foundation dedicated to supporting social and ecological projects. Since its inception, it has supported over 348 projects, providing more than €3.7 million in financial resources as well as over €530,000 in donations in kind. The foundation promotes initiatives that strengthen inclusion, participation, and environmental awareness. It relies on cooperation with local clubs and initiatives and leverages the emotional appeal of BVB to assume social responsibility.

Target groups
The foundation's funding programs are aimed at non-profit associations, initiatives, and projects focusing on social inclusion, participation, and environmental protection. In particular, measures that strengthen disadvantaged children and youth, people with disabilities, as well as local communities in the Ruhr area, and contribute to the long-term improvement of quality of life, are supported.
