About the funder
The LWL-Kulturstiftung is an institution of the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) and has been supporting cultural projects across all disciplines in the Westfalen-Lippe region since 2021. Through annual funding rounds, thematic focus programs, and individual projects, it supports theaters, museums, festivals, exhibitions, performances, digital initiatives, and scientific research projects. The foundation's goal is to strengthen cultural diversity, bring socially relevant topics – such as postcolonialism or artificial intelligence – to the region, and secure a long-term perspective for local cultural creators.

Mission & Vision
The LWL Cultural Foundation is committed to enriching the cultural landscape of Westphalia-Lippe through targeted support of innovative projects. It aims to provide impulses for societal debates, enable cultural participation, and strengthen the networking of artists, institutions, and audiences. Through transparent processes and personal consultation, it supports applicants from the initial idea to the successful completion of their projects.
Target groups
The funding programs of the LWL Cultural Foundation are aimed at cultural practitioners, cultural institutions, independent groups, and initiatives in Westphalia-Lippe. Support is provided to individuals and teams from the fields of performing arts, music, visual arts, literature, science, and digital media. Museums, festivals, archives, and collaborative projects benefit equally, as do research initiatives and participatory mediation formats that anchor socially relevant topics in the region.
