About the funder

The Martha Muchow Foundation is a scientific foundation named after the educator and psychologist Martha Muchow (1892–1933). Founded on August 19, 2010, by Prof. Dr. Gertrud Beck-Schlegel, the foundation has since supported research projects focusing on the perspectives and action processes of children in their interaction with the environment. Between 2010 and 2024, it provided support for scholarships, publication subsidies (up to €1,500), conference contributions, and the Childhood Research Study Award. The foundation collaborates with the Department of Educational Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and awards prizes and funding to early-career researchers conducting empirical or theoretical projects in the spirit of Muchow’s pioneering work.
