Merck Finck Stiftung
About the funder
The Merck Finck Foundation was established in 2007 by Merck Finck Privatbankiers AG to engage, together with its clients, in selected funding purposes in Germany under the guiding principle "Preserving values, shaping the future." In accordance with its statutes, it supports charitable projects and events of recognized organizations, with a particular focus on education and upbringing as well as youth and elderly care, but also other foundation purposes such as art and culture, science and research, nature and environmental protection, or charitable activities. With initial capital of €125,000, the foundation’s assets have grown through additional contributions and inheritances to approximately €29 million (as of 31.12.2021). Funding is granted upon written application and can cover up to the entire project costs minus public funding. Income from the foundation’s assets as well as raised donations are invested in the implementation of the funding objectives, which are responsibly managed by a voluntary board and other committees.

Mission & Vision
The Merck Finck Foundation aims to create sustainable impact in Germany by providing targeted financial support to important societal future fields. Under the guiding principle "Preserving values, shaping the future," it supports non-profit organizations to implement innovative and effective projects—particularly in the areas of education, youth, and elderly care—thereby contributing to social cohesion and the further development of society.
Target groups
In Germany, non-profit recognized associations, foundations, and institutions that implement projects in the areas defined by the foundation's purpose are supported. Priority is given to organizations with a clear educational mandate as well as those providing services for children, adolescents, and the elderly. A current exemption notice, a written project application including a cost and financing plan, and the submission of a usage report upon completion of the project are prerequisites for funding.
