Michael Succow Stiftung zum Schutz der Natur

The Michael Succow Foundation is a non-profit foundation under German law, based in Greifswald. It was named after the renowned ecologist Prof. em. Dr. Michael Succow and is committed nationally and internationally to the preservation, sustainable management, and appreciation of sensitive ecosystems. The focus of its work includes peatland, climate, and nature conservation, the establishment and management of protected areas, as well as the development of cross-border cooperation. The foundation initiates and supports practice-oriented projects, funding programs, and political initiatives to secure biodiversity, carbon storage, and ecological functions.

Our goal is to manage moors and forests close to their natural state, to expand protected areas nationally and internationally, and to regenerate ecosystems. The funding programs and projects of the Michael Succow Foundation for the Protection of Nature are aimed at nature conservation organizations, NGOs, and local initiatives; scientists and students in the fields of ecology, climate research, and environmental sciences; municipalities, authorities, and political decision-makers; volunteers and peatland ambassadors who wish to engage actively; as well as foundation and project partners and private donors who want to financially support nature conservation projects.
