The Ministry of the Interior, Municipal Affairs, Housing and Sports of the State of Schleswig-Holstein is a state authority led by Minister Dr. Sabine Sütterlin-Waack. With approximately 500 employees, it is responsible for a wide range of tasks, from ensuring internal security and supporting municipalities to promoting housing and sports. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life in Schleswig-Holstein through reliable security, modern municipal support, affordable housing, and sustainable sports infrastructure. We are committed to effective administration, a safe community, and fair conditions for municipalities, citizens, and sports organizations.
Target groups
The Ministry directs its services and funding programs to municipalities, towns, and communities in Schleswig-Holstein, voluntary and non-profit sports clubs, as well as operators of sports facilities, police and emergency organizations (fire departments, disaster control), the housing industry, builders and private property owners, as well as citizens interested in internal security perception, municipal development, housing construction, and sports infrastructure or in need of funding.
