About the funder
The Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and Environment of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the highest state authority responsible for the sustainable development of rural areas, nature and environmental protection, as well as the agricultural sector in the federal state. It develops statewide strategies for climate adaptation, promotes ecological and conventional land management, shapes agricultural and forestry policy, and monitors environmental protection regulations. Furthermore, it coordinates funding programs to strengthen rural infrastructure and nature conservation and represents Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the national and European levels.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to make Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania a pioneering region for climate protection and sustainable rural development. We aim to promote the preservation and development of intact habitats, ensure the future viability of agricultural and forestry enterprises, and minimize the ecological footprint. Through targeted funding programs and networking of all stakeholders, we create favorable conditions for a climate-resilient and livable region.
Target groups
The target groups of our work are farmers, forestry enterprises, municipal actors in rural areas, environmental and nature conservation organizations, as well as all citizens of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Furthermore, our funding and advisory services are aimed at research institutions, companies in the green economy, and local initiatives that wish to contribute to sustainable development and climate protection.
