NRV Stiftung
About the funder
The NRV Foundation is a non-profit foundation under civil law, established in 2020 on the initiative of the North German Regatta Association (NRV) and headquartered in Hamburg. It was endowed with initial capital by sailing enthusiasts from the NRV—primarily Commodore Gunter Persiehl and other supporters. Its goal is the sustainable growth of the foundation’s assets, the proceeds of which will finance youth projects, competitive sports, and inclusion programs in sailing over the long term. The NRV Foundation supports the NRV’s projects, promotes training and education in sailing, the club’s Olympic teams, as well as barrier removal and inclusion for people with disabilities.

Mission & Vision
The NRV Foundation is committed to strengthening sailing at all levels and opening up new perspectives for people. By strategically building a growing endowment, projects in the areas of youth development, competitive sports, and inclusion are to be supported sustainably and reliably. Our aim is to inspire children and young people for sailing, to support talents up to the Olympic level, and to enable sailing for people with special challenges.
Target groups
The NRV Foundation is aimed at children and young people who wish to learn sailing and experience it as a life school; competitive athletes of the Olympic Team and other regatta sailors of the North German Regatta Association; people with disabilities or special life circumstances who are enabled to participate in sailing through adapted boats and infrastructure; as well as dedicated supporters and members of the NRV and other sailing enthusiasts who wish to support long-term projects in sailing through donations or endowments.
