Mission & Vision
Innovative research requires support. The Austrian Academy of Sciences enables outstanding scientists from Austria and abroad to implement specific projects with scientific and financial independence or to establish necessary research infrastructures. Its goal is to make a sustainable contribution to the advancement of science, society, and culture through excellent research.
Target groups
The funding programs of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) are aimed at outstanding researchers at all career stages – from early-career researchers to established international experts. The offerings include national and international projects at the interfaces of basic, applied, and infrastructure research, as well as interdisciplinary initiatives that strengthen Austria as a research location.
