About the funder

The Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) is a central specialist authority of the Free State of Saxony. It is responsible for the areas of environment, nature conservation, agriculture, geology, and rural development. The office performs tasks in consulting, applied research, funding, monitoring, reporting, and documentation. With around 1,300 employees, the LfULG is represented at several locations in Saxony, including Dresden, Freiberg, Nossen, and Köllitsch. It operates four funding and vocational training centers as well as six information and service points.

Mission & Vision

The LfULG is committed to preserving and improving the condition of nature and the environment, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and supporting economic development in the agricultural and food sectors. It imparts practical knowledge through initial, advanced, and continuing education and strengthens rural regions as attractive places to live. The office operates with high expertise in all technical, enforcement, and funding matters, objectively and independently of individual economic interests, innovatively, scientifically grounded, and future-oriented.

Target groups

The target group of the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) includes agricultural enterprises, environmental and nature conservation organizations, research institutions, as well as the general public in Saxony. The office provides support and advice in the fields of environment, agriculture, and geology and promotes knowledge transfer through training and continuing education programs. It is aimed at all those interested in sustainable development and the protection of natural resources.
