About the funder

The Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMUL) is the central state authority of the Free State of Saxony. It is responsible for the policy areas of energy supply, climate protection, environmental and nature conservation, as well as rural development and agriculture. In its offices in Dresden, the ministry consolidates all strategic and operational tasks for shaping a sustainable and future-oriented energy and environmental policy in Saxony.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to ensure a secure, affordable, and environmentally compatible energy supply in Saxony, to actively advance climate protection, to safeguard the environment and biodiversity, and to promote resilient and innovative agriculture and rural areas.

Target groups

The SMUL addresses all citizens of Saxony, businesses, farmers, municipalities, municipal associations, environmental and nature conservation organizations, as well as research institutions. The goal is to collaboratively develop and implement solutions for climate change, environmental protection, and the development of rural areas.
